..........a long time coming but i knowwwww....a post gon come LOL
Man i aint wrote on this thing for ages!!! Kinda forgot i had one, kinda forgot why i had one (**damn twitter!!!**) lol, but non the less IM BACK.

First thing at hand: THE 1988 DVD IS HERE!!!!!!!!!!! OMG AM I DREAMING!?!?! WOW 6-7 years in the making? shit i lost count, maybe 10 years who knows haha, but ALL THEM YEARS PASSED BY AND WE KNOW HOW 1988!!! Im still not sure why i didnt make an offical post on the release date (oct.16th).....but do know the dvd is FINISHED 100% im starring right at the copies, in its cases cover in it, booklet inside, nice crisp disc waitin to be put inside someones dvd player.

Side Note: If you guys have a BIG SCREEN TV please have a HDMI cable pluged in, PLEASE....the quality will look soo much better, because remember this dvd wasnt filmed in HD, but i rendered the quality to the highest possible, and i watched it on my big screen with a hdmi pluged in and it looked darn good for a non-hd camera, then i watched with out a hdmi and it was..............k lemme not shit on my own product lol.....but seriously i HIGHLY recommend it.

Well i hope you guys enjoy the dvd, hard years of work...please leave comments in the chat about your feelings towards the dvd...post reviews on streetballin.net forums, good or bad id appreciate it so i can take your comments/ideas and use it to better our next dvd (and do know we are HARDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDddddd at work on this next dvd, whoaaa the IDEAS WE HAVE FOR IT, man fuck 1988 lol j/p) but fa real this 88 dvd should keep yal satisfied and hold yal through til we come out with the next one!

The DVD "1988" will be released on October 16th of 2009. The running time is approx. 35minutes long, including an intro and outro. There will be special features included on the DVD, with plenty of bonus features. The DVD will feature a booklet inside the case, with artwork from through out the years of this "1988" film. 5 DVDs will have a golden ticket inside....if your DVD happens to have one, then you'll have access to purchasing the next Manic DVD for free, a DVD of your choice (Lost in Queens, Vol.2, Cant feel my fingertips, etc.) Also Each dvd will either have an exclusive clip of Arcade, Swift, Mad skills or Clown Prince....each dvd will feature a bonus clip but of only one player.....so some dvds will have a bonus swift clip....some will have a bonus cade clip, etc...just depending on which edition you randomly get.

Ok ppl...the "LOST IN QUEENZ (Prequel)" Chapter is now 100% finished!!!! Cut and rendered in HD quality and ready to be thrown on DVD!!!............now when i say 100% that means its DONE no need to be touched up or anything.....the other 12 sections is about 98%!!! Think im goin to finalize "Prelude" and "Dice" tonight aswell!

Quick news....we are only releasin 1 dvd "1988".....as a crew we decided that it'll take too long to produce 2-dvds.....dont be mad tho the "Diary of a Menace" was more so a bonus, you'll still be gettin your moneys worth. But we still will be finishin "D.O.A.M" and for those who purchased ''1988'' we will mail you the "DOAM" DVD free of charge; No it will not be a free online tape for the public.......so techinacally your still gettin 2 dvds for the price of 1....just bein shiped on differnt dates.

On Sep.11th we will be releasing the Theatrical Trailer for "1988" just to get you viewers more up to date on footage which will also include an Official Release Date. Also we will leak out the DVD cover (so far its been gettin praised) and information on what will be included in this "Deluxe Special Edition DVD" !!!

man...i know this tape came out a while ago....but i find myself listenin to it more then usual this past few days....shit is sooo smooth and creative.....and to think THIS WAS FOR FREE DOWNLOAD! its def better then alot of albums lately, to me at least.

I would like to release a mixtape (streetball not rap, stay on track ppl lol) for free thats as good as quality as a DVD. Just for the fans.....thank me later...nah lemme stop haha.

But on a real note we do have some mixtapes comin shortly before the release of our full-length feature film! From now on its 'clips'..'mixtapes' (online cliptapes) and 'films' (DVDs/or what every1 else calls "mixtapes'') .............so when i say we got some 'mixtapes comin shortly' i mean some online cliptapes/projects................................................................................................................................................just something to transition every1 into the right mind frame for "1988"

So i was bored the other day and decided to go onto the Dime55 Msg boards.....(for some reason there still up and runnin) and just looked back at all the different post i use to make; i must say ive matured from then lol. But the point is what i really noticed was how many times ive said "mixtape comin soon!!!" .....i was sayin that ish back in Oct. 2003!!!!!!! yal realize thats just about 6 years ago? and still no mixtape..nothin

IDK if ppl forgot about it, lost interest or just never cared from the start.....but for those still followin and patiently waitin...for the 1-millionth time "MIXTAPE IS COMIN SOON!!!!" LOL 'GNR' LMAO (w.e terms u guys is usin now-a-days ha)

1988 is almost here people!!! I know ive said this and that over the years..."yeah the dvd is coming out this time, or its coming out that time"....but i truely believe its finally almost time for '1988' to come out. Ive never been this CLOSE to finishing the mixtape!!!

I just finished filming and editing my dvd freestyle, the last of the 3 i had to get done.
Only thing thats left is the Intro, Outro and Kyle is almost done with the Special Features.
And im going to go back through the game sections and touch up some spots make sure everything is crisp!!!

LOL i wont lie yal ima lazy muthafucka....its been since sunday since i touched a ball...i just been editing and watchin these nba playoffs. But i looked at the calender and notice its about 2 more months til tdot weekend. DAMN i have some work to do lol, ya boy lookin a lil rusty right now. But like i said IM LAZY haha, im goin thru these tapes (and we have alotta NICE RUNS filmed) and see college dues goin off, like thats where my game needs to be in 2months. I always tell myself "GO TRAIN GO TRAIN GO TRAIN"...but then my cozy couch gets..well "Cozy" and i get ina relaxed mood and pretty much say "fuck it".................bottom line is...if i TRAIN hard everyday..in 2months i'll be A MONSTER.....an fans i know thats what u wanna see......but if i keep bein lazy then i'll be a scrub ha....and 'challengers' i know thats what u wanna see (for ur sake)

So i have a plastic bag thats full of over 500 tapes, i kid you not....all 90minutes worth of footage......and i have to watch every tape to capture all the dvds extras "outakes/bloompers/extra hot shit/even dvd shit i missed" (theres a redicilous drop on 1 of these tapes i need!!!! im talkin defender rollin on the floor and....yea ok)

Honestly, the footage is just as important as the editing.....the editing is just as important as the soundtrack....thats the state of mind i have set when i approach the dvd. It seems like now a-days people just pick whatever song just cus its "underground"....or whatever song has a "hot beat"................with me i like picking "underground'' songs with a "hot beat" but which also means something in the words there saying.

No not them corny ball songs "now basketball is my favorite sport " bla bla bla......just meanings thats caught in between the lines....example: "Believe me its are time now to let em know"......

so in all honesty im puttin together not only a highlight reel...but also a musical album.....i approuch the vocal side as if i were a music producer..."what beats should we use on this album to make it a classic"...cus if the album aint classic then the footage aint classic....thats just me tho. So ive had this nas track for a while now...over a few years (*shouts to swift for the link) and for a while it just sat on my comp with no use....now goin down memory lane listenin to memory lane on notic2 i realized ILLMANIC NEEDS A NAS TRACK, so i went into the vault and picked out this specific nas track.

....but i want it remixed a little...but not sounding like its remixed....so i sent it over to my man No Show and had him work magic on it, and 2minutes ago he just sent the track back. Love it. Hope yal love it. would yal like to hear it? ...ha chilllllllllllllll

This is just me, i love having fun on the court and being goofy at times, i mean who plays ball with a hairbrush in they pocket? I try to be entertainin even when im just 'shootin a jumper'

....so i was reading the boards about "Best underground crew" and shouts to Street Handles for taking the lead on the votes, but i notice when our team name is mentioned the word "swag" goes along with it....its safe to say manic may not be the best crew (TOP3 tho) but we deff have the most swagga.....and a SIDENOTE: for the upcoming hoopers..dont try so hard just let shit come natural
....... and word to mother (this is kinda weird) as im typing this post my dad was talking to my mom saying "Swagga".....so maybe what im sayin is correct?

...Ok, this blog wouldnt be right without a snippet, i mean its cool to read whats going on with the dvd, but at the end of the day PEOPLE WANT TO SEE FOOTAGE.

So Kyle just sent me a rough draft he was editing for "Diary of a menace" ...and im going to share it with yal:

now this was a quick rough draft made today, so nothing on here is 100% final, just something to interest the viewers eyes, but i do love the song..our vision is so clear on this project its unreal....but we still working here baby.

On a side note: I just seen "WOLVERINE" this weekend, i loved it and yes i will be biting some of the editing for the dvd.

On another side note: (SO yal wont be confused) let me explain the whole illmanic...1988..diary of a menace titles.
...............................Now did anyone watch GRINDHOUSE? if so yal notice the whole package was called "GRINDHOUSE" which featured 2-movies...'Planet Terror' and "Deathproof' .......i personally loved that idea. So "ILLMANIC" is the full package name which features 2-disc "1988" (which is the MANIC CREW DVD, im featured on it...duh....but not that much...reason bein...d.o.a.m).....2nd disc is "Diary of a Menace" (which is MY, Clown Prince solo documentary style mixtape....the reason i wont have much highlights on 1988.....the documentary/mixtape also features my boys i play ball with on a daily basis: Kel,Lo,Sneakz)

So isnt this great, 2 dvds for the price of one, yal already know to go pre-order.

Now im a huge fan of Charles Hamilton, and im really interested to see what "this perfect life" comes out to be.

Jimmy said the album is perfect, funny is i got a friend name Jim who said the dvd looks perfect, but hes bias so his opinion dont count to me.

But is it possible that an album can be perfect? if so then a streetball dvd can be perfect right? but then again nothing is perfect. Shouts to Charles.

My first blog, my first post....enjoy.

illmanic, ill-manic, sounds similar to 'illmatic' right? well the name came from putting two words together that could perfectly describe this mixtape. "Manic" being the crew name...and "ill" being the dvd description.

Now the 'illmatic' reference. illmatic which was released by nas (but who didnt know that?) is known to this day as 1 of hip-hops greatest albums, pretty much in everyones TOP5. It saved east coast hip hop at its time and put new york back on the map. So can i provide yal with a "Top5" status mixtape, can i save underground streetball with this dvd? Those are my goals i set to fullfill.

so far i just finish scripting out 'Mad Skillz' freestyle, i plan on filming it myself with assistants from Kyle Fabroa, this shall be fun, if everyting goes as planed, this should be .......can we say.....EPIC?
